Two names do not describe one repair treatment
BPC-157 and TB-500 often appear together in discussions of tissue repair. That proximity is not evidence that they are interchangeable, work together, or share a clinical benefit. A useful comparison begins with the identity of the molecule actually studied.
TB-500 naming is especially important. Research about full-length thymosin β4 cannot automatically be assigned to a fragment sold under a related name. The publication, formulation, route, and seller’s stated identity need to be checked separately.

BPC-157: follow the endpoint back to the model
The Achilles experiment studied surgically transected rat tendons and included mechanical and functional measurements alongside tissue observations. The later medial collateral ligament paper reported repair-related improvements in another rat injury model, with follow-up extending to 90 days.
Together these papers broaden the preclinical questions from tendon to ligament. They do not supply a human treatment effect, a rehabilitation timetable, or evidence for combining BPC-157 with another compound. Acute surgical injury also differs from the chronic problems many readers have in mind.

Thymosin β4: why the eye-drop trial needs a careful label
The RGN-259 study enrolled nine patients with severe dry eye. It tested a full-length thymosin β4 eye-drop formulation against vehicle, with treatment for 28 days and follow-up to day 56. The abstract reported improvements in selected discomfort and staining assessments.
This is a human trial, but it is a very small trial of a specific eye-drop product. The number of eyes must not be presented as the number of independent participants. It does not establish systemic tendon healing or validate a TB-500 fragment sold online.
What a fair side-by-side comparison looks like
Use separate rows for molecule identity, species, tissue, route, study duration, measured outcome, and remaining uncertainty. Avoid a single “best for recovery” score, because the underlying studies do not share one directly comparable clinical question.
Our comparison tool keeps those fields visible. Open the papers from each profile and check whether the claim you encountered matches the experiment. A seller document addresses a different question about a submitted sample; it cannot turn an animal study into evidence of human benefit.
